Bear tracks was an exhibition about bears and people in North Troms through 5000 years. The exhibition was created by Nord-Troms museum in collaboration with Goržži mánáidgárdi/ Fossen kindergarten.

The bear has always fascinated us humans. It has been feared, but also deeply respected, and it has inspired countless stories and myths. In this exhibition, we see how bears and humans have lived side by side in North Troms for 5,000 years.

The exhibition is divided into two parts, one of which was created by the children at Goržži Mánáidgárdi/Fossen kindergarten. They have brought the bear to life through many different illustrations. The children have painted, drawn and engraved elements from the bear, showing how unique the bear is.

The second part of the exhibition is about the bear. Here you can read about the bear in ancient Sami beliefs, the symbolism of the rune boom and the interaction between our world and the spiritual world. You can also read about the petroglyphs of the bear and how we, as humans, have lived side by side with it. The Big Brown. Here you can also learn about where Teddy bears come from. Stories about the bear are diverse, but one thing is certain, and that is that the bear is a highly respected animal.
