Concert Recycled

25. January 2019

On Sami National Day itself, February 6th, we can offer a concert with the Storfjord band Resirkulert. Despite their young age, the band has charmed audiences and critics alike, and has played on the country's most important festival stages.

With their joy of playing and talent, Resirkulert has garnered attention since their inception in 2012. With both surreal and serious lyrics, combined with danceable, upbeat rhythms and harmonious melodies, the band has created its own niche in the Norwegian-language music scene. Vocalist Emil Karlsen from Storfjord has also proven to be a skilled yoiker despite his young age, with a strong desire to uphold his Sami heritage. The band is known for its energetic live performances, with a high sing-along factor and a low threshold for shaking more than just your rock and roll legs.

Resirkulert became a talking point as early as when they released ”Nederst på lista” in 2015. In 2017, they released the album ”Du snakke for dæ sjøl”. In 2018, the single came out, among others Grandmother, which vocalist Emil Karlsen wrote to his grandfather.

The band consists of:

Emil Karlsen, Vocals/guitar

John Edvard Gamst-Eriksen, Guitar

Knut Rye-Holmboe, Bass

Runar Hellesø, Guitar/keyboards/percussion

Isak Bakkeli Siikavuopio, Drummer
