Don't miss the first Sami Pippi Longstocking, or Pippi Nallesuohkku, as she is called in Sami. You can experience the world premiere in Manndalen on 31 October.
Where: Centre for Northern Peoples
When: 31 October
Time: 18.00
We all have a relationship with the world's strongest girl, Pippi Longstocking, but this is the first time we have the opportunity to experience Pippi in Sami. In Sami, this red-haired, rebellious powder keg, created by Astrid Lindgren, is called: Pippi Nallesuohku. The Sami National Theatre premieres the production on 5 October in Kautokeino, followed by a tour of Sápmi. On 31 October, it will be staged at the Centre for Northern Peoples. In the role of Pippi we meet Marte Fjellheim Sarre.
“It's an ordinary day. Tommy and Annika are playing in the garden, and suddenly they discover that someone has moved into the neighbouring house Villa Villekulla. Soon Tommy and Annika are best friends with Pippi Longstocking, the world's strongest girl. With Pippi around, there's never a dull moment!
Pippi breaks norms and rules, she makes us see the world with new eyes. Because of course you can bake gingerbread on the floor, and of course sugar should be sprinkled on the floor when it's called granulated sugar, and of course it's much more fun to do the washing - it's just that the rest of us haven't thought of it before Pippi does.“.
