The Laestadian revival movement arose in the Swedish Lapland around the priest Lars Levi L\u00e6stadius in the mid-19th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three researchers at UiT The Arctic University of Norway; Bengt-Ove Andreassen, Rolf Inge Larsen and Roald E. Kristiansen have been researching Laestadianism for several years. This resulted in the first comprehensive presentation of a religious movement that has left its mark on people and our local communities over several centuries. The book The history of Laestadianism in Norway <\/em>was published by Orkana Akademisk forlag in 2024.
