World Mental Health Day on 10 October is a\u00a0International UN Day<\/a>\u00a0which is marked in more than 150 countries, in various ways, to promote mental health awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Norway, the day is marked by a national public health campaign that mobilises schools, workplaces, organisations and enthusiasts across the country to work together from week 39-42 each year. The aim of the national campaign is to disseminate knowledge, understanding and openness about mental health, and to mobilise commitment and action for public mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Centre for Northern Peoples marks World Mental Health Day with panel discussion and exhibition opening!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year's theme for World Day is that we need to talk more together. We're inviting you to a panel discussion about what we can do as a community to prevent loneliness and exclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We open the exhibition \u00abThe Stranger\u00bb by Elisabeth H\u00e6tta.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition contains textiles, paintings and poems. These revolve around Hen, who is dressed in a Sea Sami bridal outfit. The works thematise identity, belonging and the ultimate consequences of exclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pupils from Olderdalen School, Manndalen School and Indre K\u00e5fjord Primary and Secondary School have been working on the theme \u00abCommunity and exclusion\u00bb. They are creating an exhibition that is open to the public from 10 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here we get to see various exciting expressions from the young artists!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both exhibitions can be seen at the Centre for Northern Peoples until 9 January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
