Ramona Salo is a designer, but also a storyteller and communicator through art and design. Her practice focuses on clothing and costume design, but also textile work in the form of scenography, installations, and textile art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramona was born and raised in G\u00e1ivoutna\/K\u00e5fjord. Her sea S\u00e1mi roots manifest in her work and aesthetics. Salo\u2019s design practice is deeply rooted in her upbringing in the north, where diverse expressions are woven into a modern aesthetic \u2013 thematically and materially. As an artist, designer, and storyteller, Ramona explores materials, textures, contrasts, cultural and personal memories, and navigates through different perspectives and landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Sami Half Hour\u201d began as Ramona's master's project at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. The project evolved into a lifelong project and the framework for Ramona's artistic practice, and has been shown in several formats and expressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abThe Sami Half Hour\u201d is now setting out on a new journey with more travelogues from the experiences along the way. The exhibition is like an archive of these journeys but is also an invitation to experience new landscapes. Throughout the pandemic, we have all experienced travelling more at home, and seeing familiar landscapes with new eyes. This time, \u201cThe Sami Half Hour\u201d has returned home to G\u00e1ivuotna\/K\u00e5fjord, and it is precisely about coming home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
