Elle M\u00e1rj\u00e1 Eira is a filmmaker, musician, writer and artist from Guovdageaidnu. Among other things, she has collaborated with composer Christophe Beck to create the soundtrack for The 12th Man (directed by Harald Zwart). Eira has been a strong and uncompromising voice in S\u00e1pmi for several years across genres and forms of expression. As a music artist, she joiks in her native Sami language with a presence, rawness and ingenuity that transcends language barriers. She excels at the intersection of joik, ambient and indigenous music. Elle M\u00e1rj\u00e1 Eira is known as a skilled improviser who gives audiences unique concert experiences every time she performs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sami National Day, 6 February, there will be a family concert with Elle M\u00e1rj\u00e1 Eira in the cultural hall at the Centre for Northern Peoples at 13:15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
