Get ready for an afternoon of award-winning short films and pizza. We will be showing, among others, the important short film \"Njuok\u010damat \/ Tungene\" by sisters Ingir B\u00e5l and Marja B\u00e5l Nango. The films are free for everyone, and free pizza will also be served to everyone under 20 years old.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, sisters Ingir B\u00e5l and Marja B\u00e5l Nango were awarded the prize for best international short film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Now you have the opportunity to catch this important film about abuse against women in a Sami environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abDuring a snowstorm on the tundra, a Sami woman is raped while tending to her reindeer herd. Her sister, far away, senses that something is wrong and begins to search for her. Filled with both fear and confusion, the women join forces in their quest for revenge,\u00bb reads the film's synopsis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also showing two other short films by Marja B\u00e5l Nango:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half this, half that<\/em> <\/strong>It is about being multicultural. The filmmaker has interviewed 6 young people who belong to two cultures, in an attempt to find answers to their own questions about being bicultural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the film Hello there <\/em><\/strong>Nango was awarded the debutant prize Sk\u00e5rungen at the Troms\u00f8 Film Festival in 2015. Here, she portrays youth life in Finnmark in a way that the jury praised as brave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marja B\u00e5l Nango<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The artist and filmmaker Marja B\u00e5l Nango grew up in Skibotn in Troms. She studied at Nordland College of Art and Film and Film and Television Studies at Lillehammer University College. In 2011, Nango was the young artist of the year at the international indigenous festival Riddu Ri\u0111\u0111u. Her films have been shown at a number of festivals both in Norway and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingir Anne B\u00e5l<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Ingir Ane B\u00e5l has training as a children's and young adult author from the Norwegian Institute for Children's Books. She has experience as a presenter and screenwriter for NRK S\u00e1pmi M\u00e1n\u00e1id TV. She is also a co-writer for Hello there<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
