Elmine was 20 years old when she, like so many others, came from Tornedalen to the Arctic coast in the late 1800s. Now, a performance has been created based on the letters she might have sent home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What<\/strong>: Musical performance: Letters from Elmine Buy a ticket<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Elmine Harila from Pello in Tornedalen settled in Vestre Jakobselv in 1883. There she lived an eventful life with her husband Karl Harila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trygg Jakola from Vads\u00f8 has written letters that grandmother Elmine could have sent home to Pello in Tornedalen. They are now being conveyed through the musical performance. Letter from Elmine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The cast and crew of the performance include Inger Birkelund, Nikolai \u00c4yst\u00f6 Lindholm, Eili Br\u00e5stad Johannessen from KultNett, Ida L\u00f8ken Valkeap\u00e4\u00e4 (director), Lina Killingdalen (dramaturgist), and Tove Raappana Reibo (technician).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The event is part of Paaskiviikko 2020 and is a collaboration between Halti Kven Culture Centre IKS and the Centre for Northern Peoples.
