Northern Norway's own folk singer Ragnar Olsen has turned 70, and in April 2021 he released his album «Det va de åran» to rave reviews from both critics and audiences. On 24 February, he comes to Davvi álbmogiid guovddáš / Centre for Northern Peoples.
What: Concert: Ragnar Olsen
Where: Davvi álbmogiid guovddáš / Centre for Northern Peoples, Cultural Hall
When: 24 February, 19:00
The concert has the songs from the album as a common thread, where oblique flashbacks to the latter half of the last century alternate with topical comments, in familiar Ragnar Olsen style.
Ragnar Olsen is known as a folk singer, playwright and translator of theatre plays, and has been a «house poet» at Hålogaland Theatre for over 40 years. He has an even longer track record as a touring musician - alone with his guitar, together with Sverre Kjeldsberg, Svein Nymo, or as one of Boknakaran.
In February, he will be travelling as a solo artist, backed by a strong team of experienced and talented musicians: Odd-Arvid Eilertsen on bass, Inge Kolsvik on keys and Tore Bruvoll on guitars. The tour is organised by Folkemusikk Nord/Scene Nord, and is supported by the Fund for Performing Artists.
