The rapper SlinCraze is known for his thought-provoking lyrics and hard-hitting rap style. Fearless and unfiltered, he tackles themes that many consider taboo and controversial. Both within and outside Sami communities, he has been described as a Troll, when, through his music, he confronts all forms of bullying, prejudice and racism.
As early as the age of 14, rapper Nils-Rune Utsi from Mazé in Finnmark spoke about his own experiences with bullying, thereby bringing this topic to a national level. Since then, he has established himself as one of Sápmi's most important young voices, and his Sámi-language rap has been noticed far beyond the country's borders. For this, he has received several prizes and awards. He has performed for King Harald V and held a concert at the UN building in New York. For his participation in the play Vidas Extremas, staged by the Sámi National Theatre – Beaivváš, he won both the Heddaprisen and the Kritikerprisen. In 2020, he was awarded the Áillohaš Music Prize.
